Is the desktop software for the Blackberry comparable to Palms? My boss is making the transition from the Palm Treo 700 to the Blackberry Curve. Loved the Palm desktop software beause I could view or add appointments to his schedule while he was out of the office. From what I see with the Blackberry the actual phone has to attached to the computer via the cable to access the desktop stuff. Is this correct or I am doing something wrong? Will be totally bummed if I can not access is calendar without the actual phone. Someone please give me some good news and let me know what I am doing wrong!
is there software for blackberry 8800 for mac? I have a new Blackberry 8800 device that has all my contacts, calendar data on it that I'd like to transfer to my brand new Mac. Can anyone tell me how to do that? The Blackberry software that comes with the BB looks like it's just for PC. I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to this stuff, but the simpler you can make this, the better! :) Thanks!
Palm desktop like software for blackberry? What software is available for Blackberry devices that functions similarly to Palm Desktop? I love Palm Desktop but i'm also really interested in the new Blackberry's. Software is more important for me than hardware. I am attached to the way i can edit my calendar, contacts, notes, and tasks with Palm Desktop on my computer and then sync them up to my palm device, and want to translate this kind of functionality over to a blackberry. If so, can anyone direct me to a link where I can download the software and try it out? Thanks in advance!!
What calendar program will my Blackberry Pearl sync with besides Outlook? I am looking for a program like Outlook, but not as expensive. It seems all the calendar/organizer programs don't sync with Blackberry or sync first with Outlook. Can I sync with Anytime software? What about Franklin Covey, Yahoo, Google or my Go Daddy account calendar? Thanks for the help!!

Sync Hotmail or Outlook or Google Calendar to Blackberry Bold.? I am beyond frustrated... a simple thing like Sync'ing calendars I've tried to do from Hotmail, Outlook, and Google calendar and have had a variety of issues with each one, despite having Blackberry's Desktop software AND downloading any 'apps' that may also be required. I just want to throw the blackberry out the window because this and e-mail were 2 reasons I got the darn thing. Hotmail is my preferred way, then outlook, then google... help!

Blackberry 7230/Yahoo Calendar Question...? Is there a way to sync my Yahoo Calendar with my Blackberry 7230? I have a sync cable, but I need to know where to get some software (preferably free) that will allow me to do this. Thanks!

Problems with Blackberry Curve sync with MS Outlook Calendar? Have a Blackberry Curve and use the calendar in MS Outlook. Phone worked fine in the past with sync, but now OCCASIONALY when I go to sync, it will transfer from the desktop to the phone, but will enter things a second time that are already on the handheld. Worst part is it does not transfer items from the handheld to the desktop which is a huge issue! It is my bosses phone and I have to know what is going on during the day to remind him of certain things, things he might put in the handheld while away from the office but I don't know them because they never transfered. The phone is only a couple months old and other than this issue we are totally pleased. I have checked the settings and all are set for the device and desktop to sync. What could the issue be? I have one pissed boss who has missed meetings beacuse I don't remind him and/or the device has "lost" his info and I am clueless with Blackberry!!! I am used to the Palm software but the Palm will not work with his Lincoln handsfree system in the car!!! ERRR!!!!! And I've called the Blackberry support and get no where!!!
sync yahoo with blackberry? I can't sync my yahoo calendar with my blackberry. It used to work great, but after a software update my blackberry started acting strange and now it won't sync the calendar at all. It looks like it's trying to read the yahoo calendar but it can't.
Pulling contacts from a desktop sync of blackberry curve through sprint? I had a 8330 curve through sprint, dont think the carrier matters, but anyway i lost the phone. Two days prior to loosing it, i had backed it up through the blackberry desktop software. When i try to click on the file to open it and get my contact info, it wont open for me. I got all my contacts, email info, calendar dates, everything in that last backup but cant figure out how to get into it or to find something that can read it so i can pull my info from it and put it on my new phone. any suggestions
Samsung Instinct Calendar? I am looking to buy a Samsung Instinct...I just have one question...what organizer software does it use...like currently I use outlook to organize my calendar that I sink to my blackberry. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Which Smart Phone is for me? Iphone, Blackberry, other? I am a 40 year old attorney. I am primarily in the office but need a phone that syncs with my Outlook via our Microsoft Exchange Server for times when I am away from the office. In order of importance: phone, email, calendar, contacts, general web use. I am open to go with any cell phone carrier but am leaning toward Verizon due to their good reputation. I don't love ATT. T-mobile is cheaper but I have heard of many problems. Anyway, back to the question, what the heck phone should I get? I think I want a full qwerty keyboard. I am considering an Iphone but I don't love ATT. I don't really want a Blackberry as that would require $2,000 in software, for the Enterprise software, to be fully linked with our exchange server. Money is not a big issue so I don't mind spending a few bucks for a phone but don't really want to drop 2 gr for the Blackberry softberry. Your thoughts and recommendations? Please provide as much detail as you can as I really do not know much. Thanks for your help.
Should I choose the Samsung Omnia or the Blackberry Storm? Should I purchase a Samsung Omnia or a RIM Blackberry Storm? My "New Every 2" is coming up fast, and I'm tired of my RAZR. I have a budding professional design life and a busy on call work schedule. To top it off I don't own a digital camera or a GPS. I am a Verizon Wireless customer, and not being inclined to switch providers, I can't do the iPhone and, to be honest, I don't really want to for other reasons. For all intents and purposes my real work will be done on my home PC. My needs are thus: - Good scheduler/calendar App - Access to Yahoo Mail - Nominal ability to call and text - Ability to take small notes quickly Features I'd "like" in order of preference: - GPS - Camera - MP3 player - Internet Access I'm savvy with computers and technology and I like customizability. I'm not afraid to experiment with the technology, ie I'd be keen to trying better firmware, 3rd-party software, and other useful cracks. I know at this point in time the Omnia can be made to use 3rd Party GPS and both phones have active consumer communities (ie Crackberry, PDAForum, Modaco, etc.) I'm less concerned about the "release" quality of these phones and more about the current state of the software/firmware, I know in particular that the Storm has come leaps and bounds in this territory. I'm willing to get used to the interface of either device, and I'm not even remotely concerned about watching video. I know the Storm does not have WiFi, but I'm currently unaware of what advantage WiFi would give me, though I can't imagine it to be a deal-breaker. Which one is a better option for me?
Blackberry Curve 8330 vs. Blackberry Bold - Verizon. Preferences? I have replaced my Curve 3 times in 10 months because of software issues and I might need a new one yet again because the calendar app isn't working. What are the benefits of a Bold other than it being touchscreen? I guess you didn't quite understand my question....Blackberry Curve vs. Bold.
Which Mobile PDA do you like the most and why? A lot of people I know are using the either the Treo 650, the Blackberry, or the Sidekick, or some other device. There are so many it is making my head spin. Right now, I am non-web with my Palm Zire 71. I love the ability to synch with my yahoo calendar and address book, but I want to evolve into going on the web with my PAD, especiall using GPS navigation software. S, I need/want something that will be basically a miniture version of a laptop with cell phone capabilities. I would like to be able to stream video and audio, take decent pictures with a zoom and flash capability, balance my bank account, check and save my emails as text files, and be able to navigate to the web from any Microsoft document, etc.

Need some opinions on PDA phones with Verizon Wireless...? I have a Blackberry Curve and I am not sure if it is the phone for me or not. I used to have a Palm 755p and loved it mostly because of the excellent way I was able to organize my life on it. Great calendar! I decided to try Blackberry, but I am not sure yet. Plus it came with a defect from the factory and the Verizon people basically said 'oh well' to me about when I asked about fixing it. They said they got a whole shipment like that and hopefully BB would come out with software to fix it. What kind of answer is that? By the way the defect is that you can't hear who you are on the phone with after you get a mms message with audio. You have to take the battery out and put it back in to fix it. And my friends love sending crazy texts like that. Anyway... I was just wondering how other people feel about their PDA phones because I am probably going to buy one off ebay soon and I am not sure which to get. I am looking at these three, but opinions on ALL Verizon PDA phones are welcome because I am still not sure. 1) Palm Centro 2) Palm 755p 3) Samsung i-760 Any info is appreciated! Thanks!
Mac compatible cellphones? I'm looking for a Mac-compatible cellphone on the Verizon network. I've been referred to the LG Dare, but after reading the Dare website, it seems that you can't sync calendar information and syncing other things is troublesome at best. I've read that the Verizon position is that they don't support the Mac OS which would explain the lack of phones. And I understand if I am willing to shell out the bucks for the extra software, I can get a Blackberry to work with my Mac. I absolutely do not want to run windows on my Mac. (I have a desktop PC, it's not that I am anti-PC and I'm not an Apple fangirl.) Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
