- The type of graphics card you need is a PCI-Express x16. Look for this type of card at newegg or other computer retailers, but make sure you don't get AGP, which will not work.
- I would say the "All In Wonder" series from ATI/Visiontek would be best for you if you're not gaming but going towards more of a media center. It has the HDTV tuner(video capture) and has the DVI slots(use an DVI-HDMI adapter and then use the audio out from your comp). Listing a price range would be of great use, as there are better cards. Whatever card you get should be a PCI-Express 2.0 x16.
- As the first poster said, you need a PCI express x16 or PCI express x16 2.0 card. fortunately, these are the most recent graphics cards. i would recommend: for gaming: the ATI 4850, 4870, or 4890 or the Nvidia 9800GT, 9800GTX+ or GTX 280 (depending on your price range) for just regular use: the ATI 4650, 4770, or 4830 or the Nvidia 9500 GT or 9600 GT as far as HDMI ports go, dont get too hung up on that. the standard DVI port on new graphics card is the same spec as the HDMI port, just a difference shape. you can get DVI to HDMI adapters (many graphics cards come with one) that will give you a fully functional HDMI port with 1080p video and 8 channel audio.
- Any PCI Express 2.0 card will work as long as the power supply will run it. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=1558&name=PCI-Express-Video-Cards&
