what type of editing software was used in diary of the dead?

i saw it in the warehouse part in diary of the dead it was so cool kinda looks super-easy using the 2 camera angles and merging both of them to 1 camera angle from a far view and close-up view. tell me what it is or what is very similar to that kind of editing software because i want to make a low budget zombie film too also tell me where to download it w/ tutorials. free download only at least a trial i dont want to buy it yet

1. Commonly, a lot of different programs are used for various parts of the movie. Editing, CGI and SFX are hard to generalize. Take a look at adobe premiere pro. It's a really great program, that really is worth the money.
2. what you saw was not real software.. it was a render to look cool.. nothing is that graphically intuitive... its time intensive cut blends with special filters and a long pain in the butt timeline view to mash it all together... this list is alright.. personally ive used Ulead and i have to say its amazing.. not studio quality but damn nice... ive always liked the Ulead style and approach to video editing on the PC, its nothing like what macs get but its easy and its a WYSIWYG interface Link #2 is my pick for serious editing that could easily patch up a B-movie :)
