Desktop Calendar Software

Has anyone seen video diary software like on Avatar?

I am looking to make diary entries in video form like on the recent movie Avatar - when the main character has to make a video diary to document his experiences I would love to just use my existing computer mic and webcam but need extra things. ie - with time/date stamp, video 1/4 stamp, location stamp etc has anyone seen such software? I really dont want to have to record a video then put the writing over the top of the video then encode each file etc. I would like to to be easy? -Thanks

1. Well you could just get a camera with better megapixels that might work, it gives you a better quality video footage.
