free journal software downloads?

Hiya all. Just was wondering if anyone no's of any diary/journal software downloads THAT ARE FREE (no trials) that i can use to write a journal and save it to my laptop so it never has to be online. i wont this to be able to be locked so only i can read it and would like to be able to change colours and backgrounds excetra. i usually use livejournal.com and it is gr8 except for the online bit so does any1 no of anything like this just for your comuter??? Has too be free LMAO = P
